On Wednesday the 15th of March I came out of the office and was delighted to see the ‘open space’ full of colour! Balloons and carnival decorations galore! Kasia and Lili had made an enthusiastic start to decorating ahead of Friday’s costued ball. On Thursday, there were just a few finishing touches to be made and we were ready to welcome the children and celebrate the arrival of Spring.
Spring had indeed ‘sprung’ at La Maison de l’Enfant! The garden was bathed in glorious sunshine, the flowers were out, and we were in the mood to party!
The first little girl to arrive was disguised as a bumble bee, no less! And a very cute one, at that! The children(and parents, of course ;-)) had gone to great efforts with the costumes, and we all looked at each others’ costumes and admired them!
We danced our socks off in the morning with the sunlight shining through the windows! We then had our pictures taken on steps and made the most of the wonderful weather. In the afternoon, even being dressed up couldn’t deter us from wanting to work on our Niki de Saint Phalle sculptures and drawings, so we did that while singing together. A fun day was had by all!
