At the end of the year with the Grande Section, we have a special celebration. We make the most of our time left with these intelligent, funny, considerate, enthusiastic, warm-hearted and talented young individuals by having a sleepover they will never forget!
The ‘Nuit Blanche’ is a time to celebrate our time together and say goodbye in a fun way. The children have a strong connection and remain close for the rest of their lives.
We take the time to make the children realise that they will always have a home-from-home here. They will always be welcome to come and say hello, bring us news or just have a chat.
All year long the Grande Section had been asking me when the Nuit Blanche would be and telling me how much they were looking forward to it! Well now, the night had finally arrived and the children were falling over themselves with excitement!
The children voted on what they would have for dinner that evening, with burgers and chips being the resounding winner! The children played cards and drew for a while, then we all put our shoes on and headed for Alexis’ Burger Restaurant to pick up the food we had ordered. We loved Tough Cookie, the burger restaurant! So much better than McDonalds!
We got to see Alexis prepare the burgers with fresh ingredients through the windows and we couldn’t wait to get back to school to eat them!
We talked and sang around a fire in the garden, we danced to Michael Jackson and we listened to a bedtime story…then it was time to sleep. Tucked up in their little beds, the children slept soundly, no doubt dreaming of all the fun things we had done that day.
